Thought leaders to contribute insights and solutions

Houston-based Filtration Technology Corporation (FTC) has been tapped to co-instruct and present papers at the 13th World Filtration Congress from October 5-9, 2022, in San Diego, California.

Chris Wallace, vice president of technology, will be co-instructing Introduction to Solid/Liquid Separation, Parts I and II on Wednesday, October 5. Wallace is presenting “Evaluation of a Novel Trapezoidal Shaped Liquid Filtration Cartridge Filter” on Friday, October 7 to introduce the concept of using trapezoidal filter cartridges in traditional cylindrical filter vessels and evaluate the impact a coreless, trapezoidal-shaped filter cartridge can have on filtration performance, flow capacity, filter life and waste reduction to satisfy the demand of the fluid process industry. He also will be moderating three events during the global conference.

A paper by director of research and development Dr. Hari Nemmara titled “Generating Representative Feed Drop Sizes for Liquid-Liquid Coalescer Evaluations” will be presented on Friday to showcase how droplet size distribution of the dispersed phase in the mixture ensures that testing is representative, evaluate different mechanisms of droplet shear to create a repeatable drop size distribution for testing coalescer elements, evaluate how a shift in drop size distribution can impact the separation performance efficiency and highlight the need for a testing standard with defined drop size distributions in the feed.

The company will be exhibiting in Booth 203. Conference participants from around the globe are encouraged to connect with Tyler Johnson, FTC’s CEO, Joe Barbee, west coast regional sales manager, and John Worrell, vice president of sales, to learn about the company’s innovations and advances that address filtration and separation challenges in solid/liquid, air/gases, filter media and membranes.

FTC announced in August its emerald sponsorship at the 13th World Filtration Congress, the largest filtration event in North America, at which scientists, engineers and professionals in filtration and separation come together to share advances and technologies for solving the world’s biggest problems. The company also is a student sponsor to offset travel expenses for the next generation of filtration scientists.
